Wood floors are in high-demand among home buyers. In fact, 90 percent of real estate agents say that homes with hardwood floors are easier to sell, and 90 percent also say that homes with hardwood flooring tend to sell for up to 10 percent more than homes that don’t have it, according to the National Wood Flooring Association.
There are many hardwood flooring options. Carlisle Wide Plank Floors identifies the following three wood species and stains that they say will likely remain on the top of home buyers’ must-have list.

Walnut, prefinished with an amber matte:“Walnut is one of the most attractive yet resilient woods available. Walnut has rich, chocolate hues, surprising auburn undertones, and complex grain patterns — making for a spectacular floor with or without a stain.”

Birch, prefinished with an amber matte:“Birch is a unique floor prized for its intriguing combination of color tones and varying grain patterns. The unique design is created by the combination of creamy white sap wood and heart stock of golden brown – and the natural highlights provide an interesting visual appeal.”

Cherry, refinished with an amber matte: “As cherry ages, its hues will darken a bit more than other hardwoods and will ultimately mature to a rich, burnished auburn color. The subtle flowing grain patterns and inviting warmth make cherry one of the most popular floor choices.”
